Dental crowns restore the look and function of a tooth for the long-term. Contact your Austin Emergency Dental dentist to learn if a crown solution is right for you.
They cover up discolored or misshapen teeth, or correct small misalignments.
They prevent breaking after a root canal or large filling, or repair cracks.
A vital part of dental bridges and dental implants, a crown looks, feels and functions like a natural tooth.
Your dentist has recommended that you get a dental crown—now, here’s what they’ll do:
During your first visit, your Austin Emergency Dental care team will remove the outer portion of your tooth to prepare it for the crown.
Next, your care team or dentist will take an impression or digital scan of your tooth to create your permanent crown.
After, they’ll place a temporary crown on your tooth while you wait for your permanent crown. Allow a 2-3 week turnaround for your new tooth.
During your second visit, they’ll place your permanent crown, make adjustments and cement it into place as a permanent part of your new smile.
